Cookie Policy

TC Companion sets cookies to keep you signed in between visits. They store a security token that proves you're logged in, nothing else, are refreshed automatically while you use the site, and are cleared when you log out. They never require your consent under UK cookie rules since they are strictly necessary to run the site.

We use analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the product is used, so we can improve it. This is not strictly necessary, so nothing loads and no cookie is set until you actively accept the banner. Declining, or simply not responding, means it stays off. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party marketing pixels of any kind.

If you buy anything, Stripe's own checkout page may set its own cookies while you're on it, governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, not this one. We don't control what happens on that page.

UK cookie rules (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) require consent before a non-essential cookie such as our analytics one is set; an after-the-fact opt-out is not sufficient. That is why the banner asks first, and why nothing analytics-related runs until you accept it.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser's settings at any time. Deleting our sign-in cookie will simply log you out; you can sign back in whenever you like.

Your analytics choice (accept or decline) is remembered in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie, so clearing cookies alone will not reset it. The easiest way to change it is the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer, which reopens the banner directly; clearing your browser's site data for this page, or using a different browser or device, works too.

If we ever add a new cookie, this page will be updated to name it accurately.
